Based in the Devon Countryside Ed and Kate Knight have been designing and making childrens' furniture that really speaks to children. When his children were small Ed looked around for a child's bed but finding nothing that really appealed he turned to his workshop to make something that really enraptured a child's imagination. "everything I looked at spoke of what an adult wanted to see, I wanted something that came from a child's  imagination." The business was born. Ed spent his time developing a range of beds and other furniture, focusing always on the ethos of "seeing it through the eyes of a child"

As the children have grown Ed and Kate have expanded into unique items of furniture and sculpted pieces with the final arm of "From the Ashs" launched in 2025 to complete the ambitions

From the Ashes is a company dedicated to reviving the use of Ash wood for use in timber framed structures, giving back to the environment by using a percentage of the profits to donate to the research and treatment of Ash Dieback.

By selling these products From the Ashes looks to promote the use of Ash as a timber for use in Construction rather than it just be used for firewood.

Ash was used in almost all areas of the wood industry before the advent of cheap steel.
